WHY MEN LOVE CARS!
BY: NICODEMUS HILAIRE (Read and Learn and you will understand…)
Why do men love cars? It seems this question has been asked since the dawn of time. I know it has not been specifically asked since cars have only been around for 130 years. In case you were wondering the first car was the 1886 Benz Patent Motor Wagon. But in one form or another this object of man’s affection and intrigue, be it the chariot, horse drawn carriage, the dog sled- basically any customizable form of transportation which requires advanced knowledge of physics, artfully crafted materials and the REAL KICKER- WEALTH has been cross examined by the opposite sex in the court of marriage, love and relationships any time a man’s attention wavers from his mate.
Prehistoric man surviving harsh environments were forced to create tools from ordinary common objects. Without the ability to creatively use rocks, sticks, or bones for any fathomable tasks (i.e. use a rock to break small chunks of another rock off one side to create a knife, cutting tool) mankind would have never survived the African continent. Lions are faster stronger and stealthier than any human counterpart but a human with a weapon (yes GUNS too) can easily take the life of a lion without injuring himself or those that he loved. Man’s ingenuity and the ability to create from imagination allowed our species to thrive against all odds. Fast forward thousands of years to Europe or America during the 1700s and the industrial revolution is in full swing. Those early humans who used their brain abstractly to “see” uses for common objects, those uses that are not always blatantly apparent I might add advanced our entire species single handedly.
The men who invented tools which allowed them to hunt more animals gave them more wealth/power/influence and mated with more attractive females. Since the most powerful, effective ingenious males mated more often from generation to generation these traits of intelligence and strength were passed on. Eventually as the Earth’s population grew (remember we are talking about the 1700’s) the inventions from history were no longer good enough to tackle modern problems. Mankind at this point has guns, sail boats, printed books, factories and industrial strength problems to match. Diseases were not understood and the entire globe had been colonized, rich noblemen ruled the working class. The natural progression which revolutionized the way we lived, died and fuctioned was the UNDYING PASSION FROM WITHIN MAN’S SOUL. Passed down from generation to generation by the earliest humans who walked this earth was the burning DIVINE energy of creation and invention.
Man invented the most basic machines somewhere around the time Christ was assumed to be walking the Earth. Although these machines and the knowledge required to create them were lost temporarily due to organized religion man’s soul was ressurrected as the free thinking innovator that is responsible for the creation of machines that take the burden off of man and beast. It took man 5,000 years worth of lessons learned working metal, observing the laws of nature, trials and errors of the entire species and effective changed the course of mankind and the Earth itself forever.
It is the same experience as parent and child and the closest experience a man can have to childbirth. We share with all men before us that strove to create. We revel in our dominance over nature.
The instantaneous magnetic attraction a man (I am a man with an affinity for automobiles) feels towards their car/object unfortunately can take on MANY DIFFERENT EXPRESSIONS AND SOME MAKE LESS SENSE THAN OTHERS. But what we call the love of cars or even computing now that we have had a technological revolution is beyond rational expression. It is a real love. My love for automobiles can border on absurd. However a divine force inspired all man made creations from art to functional tools and from that force the man who creates pours his soul into the designs essence. The sheer volume of conducted energy from the human soul becomes visible through the physical reactions of human beings lucky enough to admire the masterpiece. Cars touch my soul in this very manner. I understand and appreciate all the effort put forth by humanity to make the car a reality. Consider this chain of events a fleeting glimpse into reality.
- First man accrued knowledge of metallurgy by throwing random rocks into fire and remembering which ones melted.
- Molten metals were learned to be useful cast into different shapes and tools with the hardness of metal.
- Second once language was created someone needed a system to describe the quantity of items for business purposes.
- This system for gratifying and transforming goods and services is what we call mathematics today.
- Mathematics being used to describe the laws of nature resulted in Isaac Newton and co developing calculus the Bible of numerical modeling of nature.
Taking just calculus which is the math describing position, velocity, acceleration, surface area, area and volume into consideration there is an unknown amount of blood sweat and tears poured into the effort of an immeasurable total of individual humans who dedicated their lives to a single subject since man invented language.
The mastery of physics calculus and materials is a necessity in order to even consider building a car, forget the beauty curves and shapes and contours throughout the frame of the vehicle which sometimes serve for more than just looks but remember the mountain of trial and error and the love of creation that has been passed down from generation to generation.
MEN LOVE CARS, ROCKETS AND GUNS AND COMPUTERS BECAUSE IT TELLS US WE CAN! IT HAS BEEN OUR WAY OF CREATING AND PROTECTING FOR OUR MOST CHERISHED OUR WOMEN & CHILDREN!
WE CAN GIVE BIRTH TO THESE GREAT IDEAS IN OUR HEADS AND IT IS THE CLOSEST WE GET TO CREATING SOMETHING LIVING!
THE NEXT GREAT CHALLENGE IS SPACE AND THE LAWS OF PHYSICS ARE VERY UNFORGIVING BUT MAN IS STILL UP TO THE CHALLENGE!!!
